About the Broker - Meet Robert Vanovermeire
With 9 years experience in the real estate industry, one of Calgary’s top producing REALTORS® has sold homes in every single neighborhood, surrounding town, and worked with just about every nationality.
Robert started out working as a buyer’s agent. Working solely with buyers Robert quickly gained a strong understanding as to how buyers think which in turn has given him better skill in preparing sellers. Coming from an extensive background in retail sales as one of the top producing furniture sales people in Canada allowed Rob the ability to read buyers well and immediately excel. Rob sold 32 homes in his first year as a REALTOR® and did it all with buyers.
After 3 years of consistent hard work Rob quickly rose to the one of the top agents in his office and won numerous awards. With his accomplishments the Calgary Real Estate Board asked Rob to sit on numerous committees and offer his feedback on how to improve the quality of agents entering the industry.
Rob has a strong belief in Education and always looking for better ways to improve his level of service. In his 4th year he decided to obtain his Brokers license and perform the duties of an Associate Broker. “With a better understanding of The Real Estate Act, Rules, Regulations, By Law’s, & The Code of Conduct I can better protect my clients”, Says Robert.
One of Rob’s strong beliefs is not only investing in ones self but also in Real Estate for retirement. Rob owns property in Calgary, Edmonton, and Canmore. We have to be our own client and do the things we are asking our clients to do. “I’m always amazed at how few of our industry members actually invest in Real Estate”, says Rob.
Rob has a passion for helping others succeed which is why it came as no surprise that he was invited by The Alberta Real Estate Association to become a part time instructor teaching the new REALTORS® entering the industry. Rob is now sought out to teach on a regular basis at Mount Royal College and the Calgary Real Estate Board.
Just recently Rob and his partner Marian (who is also a REALTOR®) have opened their own MaxWell Realty franchise. “We love working together” says Rob. Marian has such skill in not only working with clients but I’ve never seen anyone run an office with such precision and organization.
With technology changing at a rate faster then the real estate prices Rob brought to Alberta the first paperless office. “We must use technology to better serve our clients” Rob says. Believe me Rob uses every ounce of it to ensure his level of service is cutting edge. Using an advanced online marketing campaign, powerful website, phone systems, and handhelds Rob can keep in touch, keep his clients better informed, and respond to inquires quicker and more professional than anyone I’ve ever seen.

- SELLING EXPERIENCE - I have had the good fortune of being involved in hundreds of transactions. I've sold many different types of properties including condos, acreages, and investment properties in Calgary and surrounding areas. Some of my past clients include Jeff Shantz from the Calgary Flames and Dr. Margo Husby Scheelar Phd. from the University of Calgary.
- EDUCATION - I have the designation of "Associate Broker" This allows me to have the licensing requirements to own my own brokerage. I have completed numerous additional Real Estate courses including, residential, condo, acreages, and presentation skills. I am also a certified instructor for "The Alberta Real Estate Association" currently teaching at Mount Royal College & The Calgary Real Estate Board.
- NEGOTIATING - This is definitely an art not a science. I pride myself on getting the extra money most agents don't know how to. Along with my experience and the courses I have attended over the years I have obtained a high level of skill. A good negotiator can achieve the results the average person would think not possible.
